H.Duty Metropolitan (Thames) Valve Key
Information
The Metropolitan (Thames) valve key designed to operate hydrant valves can be supplied in three socket sizes. These are listed below:
Standard Socket 35mm square socket (Designed to fit valves on pipe sizes of 2” – 12”)
Jumbo Socket 42mm square socket (Designed to fit valves on pipe sizes of 14” – 20”)
Euro Socket 48/50mm square socket (Designed to fit valves on pipe sizes of 27” – 48”)
The deep socket valve keys are manufactured from EN8 material. The deep reach socket suits new and old valve spindles. Similar valve keys may not provide the facility of being able to fit both new and old valve spindles due to their design differences.
The different valve keys can be referenced in the table below:
Please note: Depending upon valve manufacture there can be an overlap between Jumbo and Euro fitments. Therefore it is beneficial that sizes are checked prior to order. This is best achieved by measuring the top of the valve spindle.
