The spindle removal tool is used to remove a broken isolation assembly in situ.
The device uses a ½” square drive key to operate (keys can be purchased separately).
When using this device, it is necessary to remove the boundary box cap (meter plug) to equalise the pressure before attempting to remove the broken isolator spindle.
The device should then be attached to the ½” key and placed over the broken assembly. Then the tee bar will require a tap to enable the blades within the device to cut into the assembly slightly. The device can now be removed. The slots in the tool will allow the water to escape during the removal procedure. Once removed it is simply a case of replacing the broken unit with a new replacement and refitting the meter plug.
